Rules for NMR Use and Sign-up
Note: this sign-up software is primitive and may allow you to circumvent these rules. Follow these rules and not what the software permits! All exceptions must be approved by John Decatur. Note: overnights begin at midnight on the 300nb and the 400L and at 10 PM on the 400SL and 300wb.

ADDITIONAL RULES FOR All NMRS:
1. One person may NOT reserve time in advance for the same day/times on two or more of the following: 300WB, 400SL, 500, and 500 Ascend. You may, however, use two of these NMRs at the same time under the following circumstances: when you are logged in and using reserved NMR time on a first instrument, and a second NMR is not occupied nor reserved. In this case, you may use a second NMR and also sign up and reserve the second NMR for the next three hours. This process can be repeated. For example, if no one has reserved the second NMR after three hours, you may extend the time.2. When reserving more than one block of time per day on the same NMR, there must be a minimum of 30 minutes between blocks.
3. If you are more than 7 minutes late for a reservation, then reservations for the next 60 minutes are forfeited. You must be logged into the NMR computer in your own username 7 minutes after your reservation begins, or the reservation will be deleted.
DEFINITIONS:
Definition of Advance Sign-up Period: You may not sign-up for time more than X hours in advance.
Definition of Maximum Use Period: Largest consecutive block of time that may be reserved. Non-consective blocks with a total time that exceeds the Maximum Use Period is permitted subject to additional rule 2 above.
When signing up accross a time slot rule boundary, the lower maximum limit is in force. What this means, for instance, is that on the 300wb you cannot sign from 3 PM until 8 PM since at 3 PM, the maximum use is 3 hours.
